'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the nail-biting closing stages of Swansea's epic comeback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear amid the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a long-range effort from 25 yards, and the defender quickly hammered in the deflection before sprinting toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

This sealed an extraordinary recovery given the team had been behind 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result booked a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for having a go from that far out," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right wing-back after Orient changed tactics. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

City's Quality

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they always find their target and they are adept at manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a popular figure across a couple of years at Orient and has quickly done the same in Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at fourth-tier Salford, before he moved on from his boyhood club.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without much intensity. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that growth for both domestically and internationally, shining for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including two matches encounters against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Early Days

This represents an incredible journey for the player from the Queens Park estate in Glengormley, just outside the capital, who used to see his father, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they played on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to the weather of freezing cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was freezing," he says, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I got to the stage where I realized I wasn't going to make it at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it reached a stage where I believed I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to socialize with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and driving. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on the Tube after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
