2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently working on the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
Management Transition Follows Poor Response
The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure notified employees about this decision through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had indicated the requirement for a clearer direction.
The president noted that the team is now refining the project with a renewed focus, aiming to address gamer demands.
Trend of Key Recruitment
The news follows a similar move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to work on the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
